Enjoy a beautiful and educational walk in the Rockport and Gloucester woods and explore historic Dogtown and the Babson Word rocks.
We visit Dogtown, one of America's oldest ghost towns as well as the Babson Word Rocks—boulders inscribed with inspiring words from the Great Depression. This tour is about 3 miles long, and takes approx. 2.25 hours. The tour will take you back in time, as you see:
Remains of Dogtown, a colonial village from the 1600s
Boulders inscribed with inspiring words from the Great Depression
Rock formations created by glaciers 10,000 years ago
Tour times vary, please call or email for information. During hunting season (mid to late Fall), tours are available on Sunday, or by special arrangement.
During hikes we break for a surprise historic snack. Complimentary bug spray is provided.
